My dad has been in the hospital for the past week or so – had issues with breathing, his heart, retaining too much CO2, heart fibrillations, retaining too much water, pulmonary issues, etc, etc. and things have cascaded since he was admitted. Mom called this morning and they are planning on moving him to a hospice facility sometime today as there isn’t much more they can do and he indicated that he is ready to get out of the hospital and go someplace more comfortable.
I was able to talk to Dad yesterday over the phone – he couldn’t talk much due to his throat being pretty raw from the tubes and the lack of lung capacity but I was able to give him the low down on the goings-on out here the past couple of weeks with L’s adenoid surgery and 8th birthday party and the wonderful garden that Brigid and I have going this year and even updated him on how Sage the pup is doing.
I would appreciate any prayers or good thoughts you can offer for my dad Ron and for my mom Dinah. I figure with the few folks that stop in here we can triangulate with some pretty good prayers from here and around the country and focus them on Kansas City. I have called in the heavy guns from Spokane too – the sisters of the Poor Clares have Mom and Dad on their prayer list and they have done wonders for me and mine over the years.
Thank You
.

Count on me in Texas to help with the prayers. I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad.
You're right about the Hospice being more comfortable. Had a friensd in one several years ago. Much more home-like.
I'll light a candle tonite.
I am so sorry Jason, my Dad has been sick recently too. You can count on me. Best wishes for you and your Dad.
Your mother sent me an e-mail this morning with the news. Something like this is always surprising. Don't know if I'll see you when you gather. Mrs. Crucis and I will be praying for all of you.
Jason, my prayers are for your entire family. I am so very sorry.
Best,
Zack
