Like they have nothing better to do Part 5,637,712 and/or It's for the CHILDREN Part 9,236,743
Came across this article this morning and thought I would share. Took about an hour or so for my incredulous laughter to subside. Told a couple of my liberal co-workers about it and they thought I was joking and no, it isn’t from the Onion.
Lawmaker Wants to Banish Negative Language
Decades ago, poor children became known as “disadvantaged” to soften the stigma of poverty. Then they were “at-risk.” Now, a Washington lawmaker wants to replace those euphemisms with a new one, “at hope.”
That word “hope” just makes me cringe now. Isn’t that sad?
The state legislature here has been tasked with patching an almost $3 BILLION dollar budget gap and they get this ‘don’t wanna hurt kids feelings’ crap to deal with. We are all DOOMED I tell ya, D-O-O-M-E-D, DOOMED.
On a side note, I donated to Massachusetts’s US Senate candidate Scott Brown yesterday and also threw a small donation to Chris Widener who is running against Patty Murray this fall. Do what you can now before it is too late.
