Quick update:
As I mentioned in previous post, the birthday party at the park came off great despite the thunder, lightning and cooler temps. The weather was cooler than we hoped but the thunder and lightning had moved on just prior to the party. While the parents were shivering in our coats, the kids were running around like banshees, playing on the swings and slides and covering every inch of concrete with drawings using sidewalk chalk. Once the kids had some ice cream cake, you could have powered a nuclear submarine off of that energy if you could contain it!
It is Brigid’s high school reunion this weekend so that should be a lot of fun. Heading out Friday mid-morning and yes, we will be packing laptops w/DVD and backup laptops w/DVD and headphones to keep the kiddo occupied for the 5.5 hour trip. It worked out great the last time so we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will work again.
I have forgotten to mention that the folks that run the local convenience store at the lake have hoisted their Gadsden flag on their flag pole. It is great to see the “Don’t Tread on Me” banner flying high every time I drive past. I also noticed the other day that the proprietor has printed out some of Oleg Volk’s great self-defense posters and has them taped un the glass counter top. I am happy to pay a little more per gallon for gas now at their pumps.
Ok, have a great weekend everybody and take care.
