Coming up on my Three Year Anniversay on this blog - kind of hard to believe that.

Work is going good, staying up with everything and that is a challenge, but one I enjoy.

Down to the last 20 or so pages in the last of the Baroque Cycle books and will have to find some other series of books to obsess over for a while. A buddy told me about the Patrick O'Brien books, 20 of them in all, so that may be my next series.

Saw the movie "Sin City" over the weekend with another friend. I have been familair with Frank Miller's work for quite some time and the movie rendition was spectacular. If you are a little bit queasy at the site of blood and violence or easily offended, this is not the movie for you. It is easily one of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever seen, it is truly fantastic. It had all the right bits: tragic heroes, hot strippers with guns and fantastic old cars - it doesn't get much better than that!

After watching the movie, my friend and I wandered out to the parking lot and he pulled a foot-thick stack of slip-covered comics, er, graphic novels, out of his truck and handed them to me. He had been collecting Frank Miller stuff for a long time and knew that I would enjoy the movie, so he loaned me his collection of first editions, sorted in the same order that the stories were presented in the movie. Very cool stuff.

Not much else happening - the weather has been nice and I have been taking advantage of it for some nice walks during lunch breaks. Today I am heading over to the gym to get my membership started again and the plan is to spend an hour each evening there and get back in shape.

Well, that's it for the quick update and I need to get hopping and head off to work. Have a great day!
