Holy Moly, Blogger changed on me today - they have a new interface for entering posts....looks cool but I will have to check it out a little more.

I wanted to post a couple of links to a couple of new sites I discovered tonight through some other blogs. The first is The Politiblog, created by Jared M. - I found his site via a mention on Instapundit. Great blog Jared, keep up the great work. His entry about the school administrators assaulting the obnoxious punk kid is interesting and I especially enjoyed his entry: Hot Conservative Chick Day with the photos of the wonderful Fox News correspondant Jennifer Eccleston and the URL to her fan site.

Another site discovered tonight is Jessica's Well, maintained by Jessica (I assume) and others of Midland, Texas - home of some of my favorite people. This site was found on the always great Right Thinking site.

Now, for some super-extended linking - on Jessica's site, she has a link featuring an amazing new commercial for Honda. You must have Flash6 to see the commercial on the page and you will be prompted to download it if you don't have it. Believe me when I say it is worth it. It was all shot in one take (on the 606th try) with no computer graphics - read the Daily Telegraph article linked on the page.

Had a strange sensation tonight - going out at 10:15 PM to let the pup do her "business" and the sky was still light in the west. Summer starts tomorrow afternoon and our super long days will begin to shorten.

Tomorrow will be spent lounging on a dock with some friends, a few cold beers and a fishing pole - doesn't get much better than that. Take care.

Ch-ch-ch-chilly here this morning, up early getting the truck back from the dealer - had left it there yesterday to get the receiver hitch fixed in regards to a recall. Three hours later they call and say they can't do it because the previous owner had already reinforced the hitch. Oh well. I got to drive a sport Mercury Sable around all day for 25 bucks, which actually worked out pretty well.

Job stuff is heating up, which is always good, hopefully I will have some good news here in a few days.

Planning on taking the M1A out this weekend as well as the Combat Elite - what a beautiful, gorgeous handgun that is. In fact, yesterday I got several boxes of old catalogs and gun magazines from a friend and the cover story on one is the "new" Combat Elite from Colt. Another of the old magazines is a Guns & Ammo from 1970 which is in perfect condition - the inside cover advertisement is for the 1970 Ford Bronco! Very cool stuff. So, I will spend a little time today going through those boxes and see what other goodies are in there. This particular friend works at a gun store and in fact, he is my Gun Pimp, so he gets all kinds of neat catalogs that he passed along with the box O' stuff. The Wilson Combat catalog is great and the dealer price sheet is an eye-opener. Also included are about 5 or 6 2003 knife catalogs that someone picked up at the latest Shot Show. I will have good stuff to look at for months and months!

Ok, back to it, more later.

Nice weather here the past couple of days, it reached 85 yesterday. That is a nice change from the cool, overcast days but the heat and dry weather is killing all of the grass in my yard. I can hear the pleasant tic-tic-tic-tic-schwak-tic-tic-tic-tic of the sprinkler in the front yard.

Working a few leads on a few jobs, hoping that something pans out here pretty quick. Got a great lead from a friend of a friend and I should hear something on that in the next day or two.

Tomorrow is my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary and that is just fantastic!! It seems that most of my friends are divorced or getting divorced or they are working on their 2nd or 3rd marriage so it is reassuring to hear about a couple staying together that long. I haven't ever been married but I reckon it takes a ton of patience and love and understanding and a little magic between 2 people to make it to 60 years. They are 2 of the coolest people I have ever known and I hope they both know how much I love and respect them. Congratulations Gramps and Granny!!
